Case Study:
magnet forensics
A marketing team trying to do it all, a few stale assets, and a content calendar that had outgrown what they could produce.
“people want to hear what other customers are saying and using versus just our marketing claims.”

VIDEO STORY
Our first encounter with Magnet was in the lead-up to their annual user summit, years back. Before working with Pack, they tried DIY solutions, relying on staff with side-interests in photography and video to jump back and forth between their day jobs and media duties. They had dabbled in outside video before, having produced a few short product commercials – but the one-time assets weren’t holding up, and it was hard to justify additional spend of that manner.
So, approaching the user summit, the flagship event for the brand, they wanted to use the event to gather customer proof content for use throughout the year. That first year, we captured a set of customer testimonials as well as material to market the event itself the following year.
“we used to do it in-house, and it was one of those things where there was a lot of additional stress of having to manage all the equipment, manage the shoot times, the interviews.”
Trey amick, VP, Product & Technical Marketing
As we became familiar with Magnet products, workflows, and customer base, it was a natural extension to become more ingrained to the process. Over time, we have traveled to multiple flagship end customer locations to capture case studies, filmed product promos, created digital ads, and continued to operate on site at a few large events through the year. Some of this work has occurred internationally in Canada and the UK, as the brand has a global footprint.
In 2025, we delivered upwards of 35 projects and 120 individual assets to the Magnet team, truly becoming the visual extension of the marketing and sales departments.
“there's something about being able to see what we're talking about and see the human reaction, even when it comes to software.”
Trey amick, VP, Product & Technical Marketing
To pull this off, Pack has become the enterprise-level visual extension of a SaaS marketing team. When workflows, assets, and messaging are all consolidated and known, it allows Magnet to focus on what they want to create next – not logistics details and explaining company context all over again. We have yet to meet any marketing team that has not a lot to do and plenty of time to do it in, so making initiatives easy to pull off ensures that they actually get done by the end of the quarter.
